Kate Cassidy, 44 earned more than £500,000 a year at the bonds and currency brokerage Tullett Prebon but was later sacked.
In a letter, her employer said there were "very serious and extensive reports from a multitude of sources highlighting your performance and inability to undertake your role".
She claimed that she was later accused of using Tullet Prebon's time and resources to further her son's musical career.
